Our third game looking at active ragdolls and first with a fully physical and humanoid character.

Play a fully physical, humanoid ragdoll and explore a indoor funhouse. Swing from ropes on the ceiling, make your way up climbing walls, or be bounced about by rollers. Test your mastery of our physical controls in the time trials around the map, or just enjoy your time challenging the obstacles.

Development Of Ragdoll Funhouse

Over the last two years we've been looking into active ragdolls of different levels of complexity, shapes and sizes. 'Ragdoll Funhouse' is the first release using our main ragdoll branch, the 'Highly Animated Humanoid Active Ragdolls', I call them HAR for short, internally.

There has been 3 Generations so far, and the character in 'Ragdoll Funhouse' is from generation 2, the most stable and playable of our ragdolls so far, that we went with so we could make a small and simple toy box game to show how it played and what it could do publicly.

Our aim with the HAR series is to make fully physical ragdolls that are dynamically animated for rough and tumble, running, jumping and parkouring action that we can use for multiple projects.

 

Ragdoll Funhouse's character shows some of that, and in the next generation of HAR ragdolls, we will be working on adding more animation, reactions and intelligence on the Ragdolls part when attempting to follow the players instructions.

Developing and refining the animation of active ragdolls, in order to add more complexity to the interactions the physical characters can have in basic gameplay, is our current obsession as a studio, and is something we hope to continue developing in our titles
